- For people beginning wushu, here’s the process I would recommend:
1) Improve your mobility, including joints and major muscle groups
- Watch the videos on basic stretches
- Being able to move your arms and legs fluidly and keep them extended is critical
2) Familiarize yourself with the fundamentals:
- Learn how to punch properly and other basics
3) Practice the different types of kung fu kicks and stances:
- The next step is to learn the kicks
- Followed by the proper technique for stances
- Watch the videos that slowly cover the elementary forms
